With such a large flow of information, it is not uncommon for a busy person to mistakenly ignore or miss some emails. Experts know, that&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"writing a good subject line (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/improve-your-email-subject-line\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>writing a good subject line<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;is an art form. You don\u2019t have to become the next Shakespeare to make sure your next subject line stands out, just take note of the following:<em><br><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cIt should be short, to the point and describing the email content. If you\u2019ve grabbed the attention of a busy person and have made him open your email, that is only the beginning of the challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Start with \u201cHi Peter\u201d or \u201cHi Mr. Peterson\u201d and then use 3-5 lines of personalized formality, like congratulating the recipient on their achievements or mentioning something specific about them or their company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the emails we send out require gathering or sharing information about a specific topic, it is also useful to question the six Ws:&nbsp;<em>who, what, where, when, why, how.&nbsp;<\/em>Checking these will make sure you included all the information needed in a way that is easy to understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Write short paragraphs and keep your sentences brief. When possible, use bullet points as it makes the email easier to digest. The suitable length of an email, according to a study carried out by&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.boomerangapp.com\/2016\/02\/7-tips-for-getting-more-responses-to-your-emails-with-data\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Boomerang<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> is between 75 to 100 words. Your email should read like a summary, and it shouldn\u2019t take more than a minute to read, since that\u2019s the attention span your email will typically get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Include your signature<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To avoid having to introduce yourself in a long paragraph at the beginning and cluttering your email, make sure your signature contains all the crucial information. According to&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inc.com\/business-insider\/email-etiquette-rules.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>\u201cThe Essentials of Business Etiquette\u201d<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;by Barbara Pachter, those are; your full name, title, the company name, and your contact information, including a phone number. Also, don\u2019t let your flashy signature upstage the contents of the email;&nbsp;<em>\u201cDon\u2019t go overboard with any sayings or artwork. Use the same font, type size, and color as the rest of the email.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Last but not least: Should I even be sending an email?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our internal research showed that 65% of internal emails are shorter than 160 characters \u2013 which is about the length of a text message.
